The Houston Gamblers, Orlando Storm, and Columbus Aviators were all represented among the United Football League’s Week Ten award winners as Marcus Major, Kana’i Mauga, Jonah Dalmas, and Jerome Kapp earned Players of the Week honors following a dramatic conclusion to the regular season.
With playoff spots secured and seasons ending across the league, several players delivered memorable performances to close out the 10-week campaign.
Offensive Player Of The Week: Marcus Major
Marcus Major of the Houston Gamblers earned Offensive Player of the Week honors after helping power one of the most impressive rushing performances in UFL history.
Major rushed for 80 yards and scored two touchdowns in Houston’s victory over Birmingham. His biggest play came in the third quarter when he broke free for a 72-yard run, the longest rushing play recorded in the UFL this season.
The Gamblers dominated on the ground throughout the afternoon, finishing with 278 rushing yards as a team, setting a new UFL single-game rushing record. The performance helped Houston close its season with an upset victory and provided a fitting finish to the year.
Defensive Player Of The Week: Kana’i Mauga
Orlando Storm linebacker Kana’i Mauga collected his first UFL weekly award after leading the defense in a crucial win over the DC Defenders.
Mauga finished with nine tackles, including seven solo stops, while also recording a tackle for loss. He added two passes defended and consistently disrupted the Defenders’ offense throughout the game.
His effort played a major role in Orlando’s fourth consecutive victory, helping the Storm lock up the No. 1 seed in the UFL playoffs and finish the regular season with the league’s best record.
Special Teams Players Of The Week: Jonah Dalmas And Jerome Kapp
The final week of the season produced so many impact plays on special teams that the league elected to honor two players.
Columbus Aviators kicker Jonah Dalmas turned in an outstanding performance, converting four of five field-goal attempts and both extra points. He also connected on a 61-yard field goal, the longest kick of the UFL season and the first four-point field goal in Columbus franchise history. Dalmas became only the third kicker in league history to accomplish the feat.
For the Orlando Storm, Jerome Kapp delivered one of the game’s defining moments by blocking a punt in the end zone that resulted in a safety. Kapp also added a special teams tackle as the Storm secured their league-leading eighth victory of the season.
