Swedish champion Stockholm Mean Machines sign Canadian WR Ben von Jagow

The reigning and back-to-back Swedish champion Stockholm Mean Machines have signed Canadian wide receiver Ben von Jagow for the 2020 season.

The 6’3″, 200 lb, 26-year-old Jagow, a native of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada attended the University of Western Ontario. He spent the 2019 season with Denmark’s Triangle Razorbacks, helping the team capture the Danish title. In 2018, he played for the Hildesheim Invaders in the German Football League where he led the team in receptions with 47, and yards, 524.

The Mean Machines captured their second straight Swedish title in 2019 and 12th overall, beating the Carlstad Crusaders in the championship game.

In 2017, he helped the Murcia Cobras reach the Spanish semifinals in their first season in Spain’s top league where they pushed the defending champion, Badalona Dracs to the limit.

In addition to his football talents, von Jagow is a writer and has authored two articles for American Football International, “How to Find a Team for the 2018 Season” and “Not that kind of football”. His works can also be found in the Foliate Oak Literary Magazine, and in The Mindful Word as well as in The Stockholm Review of Literature and The Literary Review of Canada.
