LIVESTREAM IFAF EC: Team France @ Team Great Britain, Aug. 5, 15:00 CET (3 pm, 9 am EDT)

Team France will make the trip to Coventry, England to play Team Great Britain in today’s European Championship action. The winner of today’s game will face either Denmark or Serbia in October in a fifth-place game.

Great Britain goes into this game, following a strong showing, but nevertheless a loss against Italy last year. Head coach Jason Scott leads a young team onto the field today, hoping to beat a talented French team on English soil.

The standout name on the offensive side of the ball is that of quarterback Josh Allsebrook. Last October, the 19-year-old made history against the Italian national team by being the youngest quarterback to start a game for Team GB. He gave an excellent account of himself and has since gone on to enroll at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (NCAA DIII).

GB’s defense should offer a lot of stability with multiple veterans at every level of the defense. Defensive lineman Rodon Zeqiri and Cade Williams have proven to be highly impactful in the British league and should give the French line some problems. And In the secondary Jason Selormey, Eddie Onamade and Will Hobbs are all bringing with them a high volume of European experience.

The French National team looks build on its fourth-place finish in 2021 and get back to competing at the level that saw them bring home the European title in 2018. Last year, they beat Hungary, but fell to strong Austrian team bouncing them from a shot at this year title

France’s offense featured a loaded and versatile quarterback room with pocket passers such as Sullivan Silverio and Leo Cremades, will blend well with athletic dual threat quarterbacks Joachim Torrelli and Huge Tekedam.

In the backfield, ELF star Phileas Pasqualini should take the majority of the carries, while veteran receiver Idriss Ramky, Melvin Palvin, and Aymeric Nicault give the French team experience on the outside. Up front, they return tackle Max Gaye and well as Sebastien Jallier to a physical offensive line.

France’s defensive line features quick defensive ends Athony Abandzounou and Saliou Sale. Behind them, Lucas Fontenil and veteran Massimo Pignataro look to lead the linebacker core. The speedy French secondary features Khefil Osseni of the Paris Musketeers, as well as fellow ELF player Remy Chase Perron (Helvetic Gaurds).
