IFAF European Championships: France’s 2023 Men’s Roster

The French National team looks build on its fourth-place finish in 2021 and get back to competing at the level that saw them bring home the European title in 2018.

Their first test this year will be against Great Britain as they take on their rivals this Saturday at 14:00 in Coventry, England. When fifth place is up for grabs in October, the winner of this game will meet either Denmark or Serbia this autumn.

With that being said let’s take a look at France’s team’s roster for Saturday’s matchup.

Offense

France’s offense featured a loaded and versatile quarterback room with pocket passers such as Sullivan Silverio and Leo Cremades, will blend well with athletic dual threat quarterbacks Joachim Torrelli and Huge Tekedam.

In the backfield, ELF star Phileas Pasqualini should take the majority of the carries, while veteran receiver Idriss Ramky, Melvin Palvin, and Aymeric Nicault give the French team experience on the outside. Up front, they return tackle Max Gaye and well as Sebastien Jallier to a physical offensive line.

Defense

France’s defensive line features quick defensive ends Athony Abandzounou and Saliou Sale. Behind them, Lucas Fontenil and veteran Massimo Pignataro look to lead the linebacker core. The speedy French secondary features Khefil Osseni of the Paris Musketeers, as well as fellow ELF player Remy Chase Perron (Helvetic Gaurds).

Coaches & reserves

Head coach Jean-Philippe Dinglor leads the French Blues back into action this year as they look to get back to the level they were playing at in 2018 where they won the European Championship. Dinglor is joined by his brother Eldin who serves as the offensive coordinator.
