Italy: Firenze Guelfi tap Baylor pipeline again with RB Rashoderick Shock Linwood

Italy’s Firenze Guelfi, surprise finalists in the Italian championship game in 2019, have signed another Baylor product, Rashoderick Shock Linwood, for the 2020 season.

New head coach Daniel Levy was thrilled with the signing:

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Shock on board for the 2020 season. It’s not often that you have the opportunity to bring in a player of his caliber, with his experience and success at the highest level of NCAA football. I believe he is coming in with the right attitude, focused on making the most of his second chance to play the game he loves. I look forward to working with Shock as he helps us compete for Guelfi’s first ever national title.”

The Guelfi reached the Italian Bowl in 2019 behind the coaching of former Baylor head coach Art Briles and the exceptional play of Baylor alum Silas Nacita and  Lynx Hawthorne.

The 5’9″, 200 lb 26 year old Linwood, a native of Linden, Texas was a force in his career at Baylor and finished his four years holding school records in rushing yardage (4,213), rushing touchdowns (36) and average yards per carry (5.91). He ranked in the top 10 in a string of other categories ( 87.77 yards-per-game ranked fourth, 222 points ranked third, 4,399 all-purpose yards ranked third and 6.2 total offense yards-per-play ranked seventh). He had 16 total 100-yard games and ranks fifth all-time in Big 12 Conference history in career rushing yards.

He was a Freshman All American in 2013 and was mentioned as a potential Heisman Trophy candidate in 2015.
