Japan: Elecom Kobe Finies snap four-game skid with shutout of Tokyo Gas Creators
The Elecom Kobe Finies (4–4) ended their four-game losing streak with an impressive 22–0 shutout of the Tokyo Gas Creators (3–5) on Saturday, October 17, in Japanese X League Premier action at MK Taxi Field Expo in Suita, Osaka.
It was Elecom Kobe’s first victory since June 20, with a dominant defensive performance proving decisive against a Tokyo Gas team coming off a victory.
Defense sets the tone
The Finies wasted little time establishing control, with defensive back Shoya Murai intercepting a pass in the opening quarter to set up a 43-yard touchdown pass that gave Elecom Kobe an early advantage.
Kicker Kento Tanigawa added a 40-yard field goal in the second quarter, sending the Finies into halftime firmly in control.
While the offense struggled to consistently finish drives, the defense ensured Tokyo Gas had little opportunity to respond.

Campbell delivers knockout blow
The Creators continued searching for answers after halftime, but Elecom Kobe’s defense refused to give ground.
Linebacker Colby Campbell delivered the decisive play in the fourth quarter, returning an interception 67 yards for a touchdown to effectively put the game beyond reach.
Tanigawa added two more field goals to complete the scoring.
The Finies finished with three interceptions while limiting Tokyo Gas to just 135 total yards, an outstanding effort that kept the Creators off the scoreboard throughout the afternoon.
Finies back on track
The victory brought Elecom Kobe back to .500 and provided a timely boost following four consecutive defeats.
For Tokyo Gas, the shutout represented a disappointing setback after its previous victory, dropping the Creators to 3–5.
With the regular season entering its final stretch, Elecom Kobe will hope its defensive resurgence can provide the foundation for a strong finish.
