European League of Football: Cologne Centurions sign Georgia State DB Dartez Jacobs

The European League of Football’s Cologne Centurions have announced the signing of former Georgia State defensive back Dartez Jacobs for the inaugural 2021 season.

The 27 year old, 6’1″, 208 pound Jacobs from Atlanta, Georgia spent the 2018 season playing for the Kirchdorf Wildcats in the German Football League where, as team captain, he finished the year with 92 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, four interceptions and 13 pass breakups.

As a standout at Georgia State (NCAA Div. 1 FBS) he was a two-year letter winner, playing in all 25 games for the Panthers recording 35 tackles. He helped lead GSU to its first-ever bowl berth in 2015, the AutoNation Cure Bowl. He was part of a secondary that helped the Panthers reach the biggest scoring defensive turnaround at the FBS level.

In 2019, Jacobs opted to return to GSU to complete his masters degree in education while also working for the football programs at both the Georgia State and Georgia Tech.
