CFL: Ottawa Redblacks sign former Berlin Thunder Seantavius Jones

The Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League have announced the signing of wide receiver Seantavius Jones who played for the Berlin Thunder in the European League of Football in 2021.

The 29-year-old, 6’4″, 210-pound native of Springfield, Illinois from Valdosta State University was the seventh leading receiver in the ELF in 2021 hauling in 40 passes for 674 yards and 12 touchdowns in 10 games. The Thunder were the second lowest passing team in the ELF, averaging 133.3 yards passing per game, so Jones accounted for more than half of the team’s receiving yardage.

In 34 games at Valdosta State (2011-2013), he caught 138 passes for 2,250 yards and 32 touchdowns.

After going undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft, Jones signed with the New Orleans Saints and was elevated to the active roster late in the season. He had stints with the Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts in the NFL before being signed by the Atlanta Legends in the Alliance of American Football where he played until the league folded in April of 2019. In 2020, he signed with the XFL’s Tampa Bay Vipers before the league suspended operations in April 2020.
