Norwegian defending champions, the Oslo Vikings, head to Stockholm, Sweden Saturday, May 14 for a matchup against the Stockholm Mean Machines in the second round of play in the Scandinavian Cup.

In the first round two weeks ago, the Vikings dispatched the Eidsvoll 1814s, also from Norway, 42-7, while Stockholm earned a solid 40-26 victory over the Carlstad Crusaders.

The Mean Machines are coming off of a last minute 37-35 win over the Carlstad Crusaders in Swedish Superserien play last week. So far this season, Stockholm remains unbeaten with three wins in the Superserien and the victory last week in Cup action.

Stockholm quarterback Mark Pappas and receiver Matt Retzlaff are a deadly combination. Running back Oliwer Stedt has really come into his own this season giving the Mean Machines an exciting ground game.

Oslo running back Jesper Jørgensen will take handoffs from quarterback Jesber Johnsen. With 6’4″ Cameron Jordan (Syracuse) at wide out, Johnsen has a quality target to throw to.
