Cologne Centurions look for bounce-back win against Frankfurt Galaxy

This Saturday the Cologne Centurions will look to get their season back on track as they host the Frankfurt Galaxy as the European League of Football heads into its fourth round of play.

Cologne quarterback Jan Weinreich has been the Centurions most impactful weapon this season, leading the league with 1,144 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Weinreich’s partner in crime has been second-year receiver Quinten Pounds. Pounds played second fiddle to Madre London last year but has blown up as the team has begun to lean on their passing game.

Pounds has proved a nightmare to deal with for opposing defenses, racking up 443 yards and a league-leading nine touchdowns. Containing Pounds and Weinreich will undoubtedly be the key for Galaxy to secure the win.

Cologne has been the league’s hottest offense, but along with it has come a defense that has been unable to keep opponents out of the endzone.

The Galaxy has a disappointing start to the season with losses to Rhein Fire and Vienna Vikings. They have since bounced back with a dismantling of the Wroclaw Panthers last week.

Galaxy’s talisman and 2021’s title-game MVP Jakeb Sullivan missed week 2 with an injury but returned with a four-touchdown game against the Panthers last week.

Sullivan will likely be in a shootout again this week against the Centurions, and with the Galaxy not in their best form, it will need to be his best game of 2022 if he hopes to bring Frankfurt’s record to .500.
