ELF: Madrid Bravos announce Estadio de Vallehermoso as Home Stadium

The Madrid Bravos have finally found their home stadium for the 2024 European League of Football season, as on Thursday the team announced that they will be playing in the Estadio de Vallehermoso.

Located in the Chamberi neighborhood within the city limits of Madrid, the stadium should be easily accessible to football fans throughout the Madrid area.  With the potential to hold up to 10,000 fans, the stadium is already on the larger side in terms of ELF stadiums, and the team hopes to be able to fill as many seats as possible in the coming years.

The stadium was originally built in 1957, but was demolished for renovation purposes in 2007.  It opened again in 2019 with more modern features than what had been there before.  While the stadium has not seen a ton of activity in recent years, the site was once a prominent track and field facility, as it has hosted events featuring famous sprinters such as Carl Lewis, Edwin Moses, and Asafa Powell.

Bravos general manager Jaime Martin:

“Vallehermoso is a unique place in the center of Madrid and that has a capacity that will allow us to grow in the coming years.  We thank the Madrid City Council for their collaboration and help in this process.”

The Bravos’ first ever game will take place in Estadio de Vallehermoso, as they will take on their Spanish rivals, the Barcelona Dragons, on June 1st.  As part of the stacked Western Conference, they will host games against the Rhein Fire, Frankfurt Galaxy, Paris Musketeers, Cologne Centurions, and Hamburg Sea Devils.
