Asnieres Molosses dominate Leopards for first French D1 Elite victory
The Asnieres Molosses (1–2) earned their first win of the French D1 Elite season in commanding fashion, shutting out the Rouen Leopards (1–2) 28–0 behind a strong defensive performance and an efficient offense led by new quarterback AJ Abbott.
Abbott sparks early momentum
From the opening drive, Asnieres set a physical tone. New quarterback AJ Abbott guided the offense smoothly, capping the first possession with a rushing touchdown. The Molosses added another score before halftime, building a 14–0 lead while their defense stifled Rouen’s attack. The Leopards, coming off a Week 2 win, struggled to establish any rhythm or find answers against a much-improved Asnieres defensive unit.
Defense seals the shutout
The second half offered more of the same, as the Molosses continued to control both sides of the ball. The offense tacked on two more touchdowns to remove any doubt, while the defense maintained its intensity, preventing Rouen from ever reaching the end zone. The complete performance resulted in the first shutout of the Molosses’ season and a confidence-boosting bounce-back win.
The victory improves Asnieres’ record to 1–2 and provides momentum heading into the next round of the D1 Elite season. For Rouen, the loss halts their positive momentum and highlights areas needing improvement, particularly on offense after being held scoreless on the road.
