LIVESTREAM Austria: Salzburg Ducks @ Prague Black Panthers, June 6, 15:00 CET (3 pm, 9 am ET)

The Prague Black Panthers (5-2) put their three-game winning streak on the line Saturday when they host the Salzburg Ducks (2-5) in an Austrian Football League matchup with playoff implications for both teams.

While Prague is looking to strengthen its position near the top of the standings, Salzburg enters the weekend holding the sixth and final playoff spot. With only a few games remaining in the regular season, every result becomes increasingly important.

Panthers finding their rhythm

The Black Panthers have been one of the hottest teams in the league over the past month, winning three straight games while scoring more than 40 points in each contest.

Their latest success came in a convincing 42-23 road victory over the Swarco Raiders Tirol. Running back Ahmonte Watkins delivered one of his best performances of the season, scoring three rushing touchdowns in the first half and helping Prague build a commanding 35-9 halftime lead.

Quarterback Amos Feranec efficiently directed the offense throughout the game, while the offensive line consistently opened running lanes and provided solid pass protection.

The victory marked Prague’s fourth win in its last five games and reinforced the team’s ambitions of securing a strong playoff position.

Ducks fighting for survival

The Ducks arrive in Prague after a heartbreaking 23-21 loss to the Fehérvár Enthroners.

In one of the most dramatic finishes of the AFL season, Salzburg scored what appeared to be a game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter before Fehérvár answered with a last-second touchdown drive to steal the victory.

Despite the defeat, the Ducks remain ahead of the Enthroners in the head-to-head tiebreaker and currently occupy the final playoff position.

Adding to the challenge this week, linebacker Andre Blackett Jr. will be unavailable after receiving a suspension following the game against Fehérvár.

Physical battle ahead

Head coach Joe Ashfield knows exactly what awaits his team.

The Black Panthers have built a reputation as one of the most physical teams in the AFL, and their recent offensive production has made them even more dangerous.

For Salzburg, slowing down Watkins and preventing explosive plays will be critical. Offensively, the Ducks must find a way to sustain drives and keep the high-powered Prague offense off the field.

Playoff stakes growing

The goals for both teams are clear.

The Black Panthers are chasing a top playoff seed and home-field advantage, while the Ducks are battling to stay inside the postseason picture.

With momentum on one side and urgency on the other, Saturday’s matchup in Prague should carry plenty of intensity from the opening kickoff.
