AFLE: Wroclaw Panthers rout Firenze Red Lions 62-0 to complete season sweep

The Wroclaw Panthers (6-2) continued their push toward the American Football League Europe playoffs on Sunday, rolling to a 62-0 victory over the Firenze Red Lions (0-7). After beating the Red Lions 48-7 earlier this season, the Panthers once again controlled the game from start to finish to complete the season sweep in emphatic fashion.

Wang leads another explosive offense

Quarterback Jameson Wang turned in one of his best performances of the season, completing 21 of 22 passes for 292 yards and four touchdowns while posting a perfect passer rating.

Wang spread the ball around throughout the afternoon, but Michael Harley Jr. was once again the biggest playmaker. The standout receiver caught 11 passes for 155 yards and three touchdowns, repeatedly finding space in the Firenze secondary. Dylan St. Pierre added two receptions for 30 yards and a touchdown, while Juan Flores-Calderon hauled in a 20-yard touchdown catch.

With the game well in hand, Diego Lliteras took over in the fourth quarter and completed one of two passes for 20 yards and a touchdown to cap another dominant offensive performance.

Ground game keeps rolling

The running game was just as effective as the passing attack.

Bartosz Woch led the way with 63 rushing yards on 13 carries and scored three touchdowns. Kamil Kotlarz added 57 yards on 12 carries, while Oliver Zarembski chipped in 48 yards as the Panthers piled up 186 rushing yards.

Wang also contributed on the ground, rushing twice for eight yards and another touchdown as the Wroclaw offense scored nine total touchdowns.

Defense dominates again

While the offense filled the scoreboard, the Panthers defense was every bit as impressive.

The Red Lions managed only 98 passing yards and 31 rushing yards, finishing with just 129 total yards. Harrison Roubidoux completed seven of 28 passes for 98 yards and was intercepted twice as the Wroclaw defense consistently shut down every scoring opportunity.

Keith Coffee II accounted for most of Firenze’s production with five receptions for 84 yards, but the Panthers never allowed the visitors to build any momentum and recorded their first shutout of the season.

Playoff push continues

The victory keeps the Panthers firmly in the race near the top of the AFLE standings as the regular season enters its final stretch.

A near-perfect performance from Wang, another huge day from Harley Jr., a productive rushing attack and a dominant defensive effort showcased why the Wroclaw Panthers remain one of the league’s most complete teams.

For the Red Lions, the difficult season continued as they dropped to 0-7, while the Panthers strengthened their playoff position with another complete four-quarter performance.
