Aix-en-Provence Argonautes complete stunning comeback against Grizzlys in French D1 Elite

The Aix-en-Provence Argonautes (2-2-1) mounted a spectacular second-half comeback to defeat the Grizzlys Catalans (3-2) 19-12, securing their second consecutive victory and climbing back into playoff contention in the French D1 Elite.

Grizzlys control first half
The home team came out strong, building a 12-0 lead by halftime behind their passing attack. Receiver Idriss Ramky opened the scoring with a long reception and run, followed by quarterback finding Alexandre Agnimel in the end zone. The Grizzlys‘ defense complemented the effort by shutting out the Argonautes completely through the first two quarters, appearing to be in full control of the game.

Giglio leads the rally
Everything changed after halftime as Aix-en-Provence turned to their powerful ground game. Running back Antoni Giglio took over, scoring his first touchdown to bring the Argonautes back within striking distance before adding another to give his team their first lead at 13-12. With the game on the line, Giglio delivered once more, securing his third touchdown of the half to ice the victory.

Turning point for both clubs
This comeback win marks a significant momentum shift for the Argonautes, who have now strung together two impressive victories to get back to .500 and into the playoff conversation. For the Grizzlys Catalans, it’s a second straight frustrating loss after a strong start to the season, raising questions about their ability to finish games strong.
