Alejandro Fernández announced to AIA and All22 Pro Day Training camp

Former European League of Football (ELF) and Defensive Player of the Year nominee 2022 Alejandro Fernández has been announced as an attendee to the Athletes in Action (AIA) and All22 Pro Day Training camp.

The AIA Pro Day Training camp operates similarly to EXOS, IMG and Michael Johnson Performance center in that it prepares college-level athletes for all the drills that make up a pro day. The difference with AIA is that it focuses on high character and placing those athletes not only in the NFL but also other professional leagues in North America and overseas.

Last year’s attendees included British offensive linemen Toby Lettman and Keanu Ebanks and Serbian defensive lineman Dušan Novaković. Following the AIA Pro Day in April last year, Ebanks was signed by the Canadian Football League’s (CFL) Calgary Stampeders for the 2022 season, and recently re-signed for 2023.

Fernández had an outstanding year with the Barcelona Dragons in 2022 where he amassed 15.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles and a pick-six, defensively leading his team to the semifinals. The 22 year old Spaniard’s explosive season was made even more remarkable by his slightly undersized 6 ‘1″, 231-pound frame and led to him being one of the most sought-after defensive players this offseason.

His smaller frame may be a detractor in the US version of the game but could be exactly what tickled AIA and global scouting partner All22’s fancy, whose specialty has shown to be placing international players in the much faster CFL.
