Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes becomes fastest in NFL history to 250 passing touchdowns

Few — if any — in NFL history have had such a sensational start to their career as Patrick Mahomes.

The three-time Super Bowl winner has added a record-setting reminder of that.

Mahomes became the fastest in league history to reach 250 passing touchdowns during the Kansas City Chiefs’ 37-20 win Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.

Playing in his 116th career contest, Mahomes passed Aaron Rodgers for the quickest to 250. Rodgers, who accomplished the feat with the Green Bay Packers, hit his milestone moment in game No. 121.

Entering Sunday with 248 TDs, Mahomes’ 249th was a 4-yard score to JuJu Smith-Schuster, with his 250th coming on an 8-yarder to Isiah Pacheco in the second quarter. Mahomes went on to add two more touchdown passes, bringing his career total to 252, which is 27th all time.

It’s the latest achievement in an already storied career for the 30-year-old.

Mahomes is a six-time Pro Bowler, a three-time Super Bowl Most Valuable Player and a two-time Associated Press MVP.

In just his ninth NFL season, Mahomes is now only the 28th player in league chronicle to reach the 250-TD mark — and the sixth active QB to do so.

Mahomes and the Chiefs got off to a 0-2 start this season — the first in his career. On Sunday, he offered further evidence of just how rare slow starts have been during his illustrious tenure.
