Denmark’s Søllerød Gold Diggers sign Mexican/Spanish OL Luis De Las Heras

With the Danish National League gearing up for an abbreviated season starting next month, the Søllerød Gold Diggers have signed Mexican/Spanish offensive lineman Lui De Las Heras.

The Gold Diggers along with the Copenhagen Towers, Triangle Razorbacks, AaB 89ers and Aarhus Tigers will play a six week season starting August 8 with each team playing a total of four games.

The 26 year old, 6’1″, 276 pound Heras, a native of Xalapa, Mexico, spent the 2019 season with the Coslada Camioneros in Spain’s top division and also played for the Kotka Eagles in Finland’ second division. He also started at center for Team Spain in their European Championship qualifiers against Turkey and Hungary.

In 2018, he played for both the Camioneros and Eagles as well after having been selected for the Spanish national team in their clash with Team Russia. Heras spent the 2016 and 2017 as a member of the Águilas Blancas IPN in Mexico’s ONEFA  (Organización Nacional Estudiantil de Futbol Americano) college league. He started playing football with the Zorros Dorados club team in his hometown of Xalapa.
