Finland: East City Giants bet on championship QB Matt O’Connor for 2026 season

The 6-2, 200 pound O’Connor arrives in Finland fresh off a championship-winning season in Hungary. In 2025, he led the Diósd Saints, a newly promoted team, to an unlikely HFL title. His statistics were impressive: in eight games, he threw for 2,630 yards with a 70% completion rate and 28 touchdowns, showcasing the precise and efficient passing game he’s known for.

A collegiate veteran with a precise arm
Before his professional breakout, O’Connor built his foundation in the NCAA. The native of Narberth, Pennsylvania began his college career at Villanova University before transferring to Stetson University.
