Elecom Kobe Finies rally past OrientalBio Silver Star to remain unbeaten in X League Premier

The Elecom Kobe Finies (3-0) overcame a halftime deficit to defeat OrientalBio Silver Star (0-2) 10-3 in a rain-soaked X League Premier matchup at MK Taxi Field Expo in Suita, extending their unbeaten start to the season to three games.

Rain slows both offenses

Heavy rain dictated the pace from the opening kickoff as both offenses struggled to establish any rhythm.

OrientalBio managed the only points of the first half when Hikari Umegaki drilled a 29-yard field goal in the opening quarter to give the visitors a 3-0 lead. The difficult conditions limited both passing attacks, and neither team found the end zone before halftime.

For Elecom Kobe, quarterback David Pindell battled through the wet conditions but found little room to operate early as both the running and passing games stalled.

Pindell sparks the comeback

The momentum finally shifted midway through the third quarter.

Kento Tanigawa tied the game with a 38-yard field goal, setting the stage for the decisive drive. Minutes later, Elecom Kobe capitalized after a personal foul moved the offense deep into OrientalBio territory.

Pindell did the rest himself, keeping the ball on a 12-yard touchdown run that proved to be the game-winning score.

Although he completed just 12 of 29 passes, Pindell made up for it with his legs, rushing for 71 yards while providing the offense with the spark it had been searching for all afternoon.

Finies stay perfect

The Elecom Kobe defense made the slim lead stand up, holding OrientalBio scoreless after its opening-quarter field goal despite the difficult weather conditions.

With the 10-3 victory, the Finies improve to 3-0 and remain among the early leaders in the X League Premier standings. OrientalBio Silver Star, meanwhile, drops to 0-2 after another defensive effort that deserved more offensive support.
