ELF: Helvetic Mercenaries sign standout Div. II WR Anthony Brown

The Helvetic Mercenaries have filled their another American import spot on offense, as the Swiss European League of Football team have announced the signing of receiver Anthony Brown.

Originally from Belton, Texas, Brown was a four-year starter at Saint Anselm College, an NCAA Division II program in Goffstown, New Hampshire.  In his freshman season of 2019, he caught 50 passes for 641 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for a touchdown on a trick play and returning a kickoff for a touchdown.  After the 2020 season was cancelled due to COVID-19, he came back in 2021 with 56 for 812 yards and nine touchdowns, while also returning a punt for a touchdown.

In 2022, Brown caught 56 passes again, this time for 721 yards and six scores.  He also rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.  Unfortunately, his senior season of 2023 was limited due to injury.  He played in three games, managing three catches for 99 yards and two touchdowns, as well as six carries for 22 yards and two touchdowns.  Throughout his collegiate career, Brown received NE10 All-Conference recognition in every season he played in.

A recent collegiate graduate, Brown now joins his first professional team.

After the now defunct Guards struggled through a 3-9 season in 2023 in their debut season as a franchise, the new-look Mercenaries look to make a splash with this selection as they try and create a new legacy for a Swiss ELF squad.
