ELF: Prague Lions sign Clark Hazlett as QB Coach

The Prague Lions have announced the signing of Clark Hazlett as quarterback coach for the 2024 European League of Football season.

The 6’4″, 220-pound 27 year old native of Lynden, Washington is coming off an excellent season in Australia which saw him lead the UNSW Raiders to the 2023 Waratah Bowl championship.

He arrived in Australia have spending a couple of seasons playing in Mexico with the Gallos Negros and the Tiburones de Cancún in the now defunct Fútbol Americano de México. He started the first three games of the season with the Tiburones and then was traded to the Tequileros de Jalisco where he played the final three games. In the five games he played, Hazlett had a 63% completion percentage, 1,166 passing yards, 12 passing touchdowns and six interceptions. He was also effective in the running game too, rushing for 161 yards on 23 attempts and a touchdown.

In 2021, he played quarterback and was the offensive coordinator for the Vysocina Gladiators of the Czech League of American Football. He guided the team to a 6-1 regular season record and then went on to the the Czech championship in Czech bowl XXVIII.

He started the 2020 Brazilian season (which runs from August to October) with the Timbó Rex in Brazil and stayed there for the next four months, but the season was cancelled before it would even begin due to COVID-19. He had spent the early part of 2020 playing for the Pionniers de Touraine in Tours, France. The team opened the season 5-0 with him behind center, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the season was cut short.

Hazlett played college football for Linfield University (NCAA Div. III) in McMinnville, Oregon from 2016-2019.
