ELF: Prague Lions sign University of Alabama DB Daniel Wright

The Prague Lions bolstered their defensive secondary in a big way with the signing of former Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back Daniel Wright.

The 6’1″, 195 pound, 24 year old native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida was a third-down defensive back in 2021 for Alabama. He recorded 29 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, three pass breakups, and a quarterback hurry. Wright was a starting safety for the Crimson Tide in 2020, posting 60 tackles, three breakups, a quarterback hurry, and two interceptions. He returned a pick for a touchdown versus Texas A&M.

He finished his career with 115 tackles, 10 passes defended, and and two interceptions including that pick-six in his collegiate career under Nick Saban. He was a highly rated safety who arrived at Alabama as a unanimous four-star recruit and played in the Under Armour All-America Game. He was ranked as #60 in the ESPN300, the fifth-best safety nationally and No. 14 player in the state of Florida by ESPN.

Wright signed with the Atlanta Falcons in 2022 and attended rookie mini camp.
