ELF: Stuttgart Surge sign Simeon Okonta Wariso

The Stuttgart Surge, 2023 European League of Football runners up, have announced the signing of British defensive lineman Simeon Okonta-Wariso.

Okonta-Wariso played the last seven games of the 2023 European League of Football season with the Hamburg Sea Devils where he recorded 22 tackles, one sack and three tackles for loss.

Prior to joining the ELF, the 6’1″, 255 pound native of Derby, England played two years in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the Toronto Argonauts (2022-2023), with whom he won the 2022 Grey Cup against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He was selected by Toronto in the 2022 CFL Global Draft after posting a highly impressive performance during the CFL Combine. He had spent part of the 2021 season playing for the Lubeck Cougars in the GFL2.
