Finland’s Filip Zacok set to play for Indiana State Sycamores

Defensive lineman Filip Zacok  from Seinajoki, Finland is the latest European athlete to head to the United States to play college football after receiving a scholarship with Indiana State University, a top NCAA Division I team this year.

The 6’4, 265 lb defensive end who played for the Seinajoki Crocodiles in Finland’s Maple League received a number of scholarship offers on a recent college tour with Europe’s Elite but he felt most comfortable with the Indiana State Sycamores. He has just been approved by the NCAA that he will have all four year of eligibility.

Zacok stood out during a the Legacy college tour with Europe’s Elite. Filip’s evaluation from the D Zone:

“Filip has great hip leverage, quick hands, and consistently physical on the point of attack. He showed a variety of pass rush moves and gave fits to OL throughout the Camp Tour. His potential and upside made him a top prospect at each camp and many college coaches now have him on their board.”

NFL Draft Diamonds had this to say about Zacok:

“Filip Zacok is a monster 6’5 250 DE from Finland. Filip plays for the Seinajoki Crocodiles, last season he was one of the best Defensive players in the league. He has the big body that recruiters would like to see in a Defensive line man her also has the combination of size and speed where he can be put inside as a 3tech. “
