France: Cannes Iron Mask stay unbeaten in lopsided shutout of Toulouse Ours

The Cannes Iron Mask capped off their perfect regular season with a commanding 41-0 victory over the Toulouse Ours. With this win, Cannes improved to 10-0, while Toulouse finished the season at 4-6, missing out on the playoffs.

Strong start for Cannes

From the opening whistle, the Iron Mask established their dominance. The Ours struggled to find their rhythm, with quarterback Nathan Coutellec facing relentless pressure from the Cannes defense. Despite their efforts, the Ours couldn’t contain Conor Miller, who connected with Yanis Polin for the first touchdown of the game. Shortly after, Lucas Fontenil sacked Coutellec, forcing a fumble that was scooped up by Léopold Mendes Tavares and returned for another touchdown, putting Cannes ahead 14-0.

Building a commanding lead

The Iron Mask continued to pile on the points before halftime. Polin scored again, this time on a rushing play, followed by a touchdown from Amadou Seck just before the break, extending the lead to 27-0. The Ours were left reeling, unable to respond to the onslaught from Cannes.

Second half dominance

After halftime, the Iron Mask showed no signs of slowing down. Miller kept distributing the ball effectively, and after touchdowns from Seck and a new target, Key, the score ballooned to 34-0. The Ours defense, visibly fatigued, struggled to contain the Iron Mask‘s running game. Loris Savalle capped off the scoring with a powerful run into the end zone, sealing the game at 41-0.

Looking ahead

The Cannes Iron Mask finished the regular season undefeated, setting the stage for a promising playoff run. Meanwhile, the Toulouse Ours faced a frustrating end to their season, falling just short of playoff contention.
