France: Fontenay Météores storm past Rouen Leopards in road victory

The Fontenay Météores (3–1) defeated the Rouen Leopards (1–3) by a score of 21–7 in a D1 Elite North Conference matchup defined by a dominant first-half performance from the visitors.

Météores struck early and often
Fontenay set the tone immediately, capitalizing on two critical Rouen turnovers in quick succession. After intercepting Noah Carreau’s pass, running back Graham Ouro Bodi broke through for the opening touchdown. On the ensuing drive, Ouro Bodi struck again with another explosive run, giving the Météores a 14–0 lead within just two minutes of game time. The early burst proved insurmountable for the Leopards, who struggled to find offensive rhythm throughout the first half.

Leopards showed fight after halftime
Rouen regrouped in the second half, putting together a sustained drive capped by a touchdown run from Allan Evrard to cut the deficit to 14-7. The home crowd rallied behind the Leopards’ resurgence, but Fontenay responded decisively when quarterback Matthias Josmar connected with receiver Guillaume Monot to extend the lead back to 14 points. A final interception of a Carreau pass sealed the outcome, halting Rouen’s late comeback attempt.

Météores back on track
The win puts Fontenay back in the win column after a Week 3 loss and strengthens their position in the North Conference. For Rouen, it’s a second straight defeat despite a resilient second-half effort. The Météores ability to capitalize on turnovers and control the ground game proved the difference in a hard-fought road victory.
