France: Grizzlys bounce back with shutout win over Aix-en-Provence Argonautes
The Grizzlys Catalans (4-2) rebounded strongly from back-to-back losses, blanking the Aix-en-Provence Argonautes (2-3-1) 27–0 to reclaim their footing in the French D1 Elite’s Southern Conference race.
Tisdol returns, offense finds rhythm
Running back Desmond Tisdol, back in action after missing last week, provided an immediate spark with a first-half touchdown. Supported by two early field goals, the Grizzlys built a 13–0 lead by halftime and never looked back. Despite missing starting quarterback Badis Grami, backup Axel Falchetti managed the game effectively and kept the offense on track.
Defense clamps down on Argonautes
The Grizzlys’ defense delivered its most complete performance in weeks, completely stifling the Argonautes’ attack and securing the team’s first shutout of the season. Aix-en-Provence, who had won two straight coming in, was held scoreless and struggled to sustain drives throughout the afternoon.
Conference positioning tightens
The win moves the Grizzlys back into strong contention near the top of the Southern Conference, providing crucial momentum after a difficult stretch. For the Argonautes, the shutout loss damages their playoff hopes and underscores the need to rediscover their offensive identity quickly. With the series split, both teams now look ahead to critical matchups in the tight conference race.
