France’s St. Ouen Cougars Sign Wake Forest QB Tanner Price

Former ACC quarterback chooses France for 2015

Tanner Price (University of Wake Forest) joins the St. Ouen-Aumone Cougars at the position of quarterback for the 2015 season.

2014 was an exceptional season with Patrick Witt in the Cougars black and gold. Witt exploded defensive backfields in France‘s Elite Championship division, throwing for a record number of yards (3,190) becoming the first quarterback in the ‘Elite Championat Diamant’ to launch more than 3,000 yards in a season. He also threw for 37 touchdowns and ran in 10 more.

The Cougars had their work cut out for them finding a replacement for 2015.

At 23 years old, Tanner Price comes from Wake Forest University, the same as the former Cougars offensive lineman Dennis Godfrey (pictured with Price below). Godfrey protected Price during the 2010 and 2011 seasons. Price’s Wake Forest University played in ACC (Atlantic Coast Conference) against powerful opponents such as the 2014 National Champion, Florida State University Seminoles.

During his four years for WFU, Price appeared in 48 games, including 46 as starter. He ended his collegiate career with 8,899 yards, 52 TDs and 31 INTs. His performances earned him an invitation to rookie mini-Camp  with the Baltimore Ravens (NFL) and the rookie camp Montreal Alouettes (CFL) in May this past spring.

Price is ranked 2nd all-time Wake Forest history in passing yards and career touchdown passes. He is tied the for the overall record for total career touchdowns at 65.

Price is also the only player in the history of the university to run, throw, and catch a touchdown in a single game. He broke all records for a 1st year starter in 2010.

Academic All-ACC in 2011, 2012 and 2013, he was appointed captain of his team in 2013. Named ACC Player of the Week (Sept. 14, 2013) and twice ACC Offensive Back of the Week (September 8, 2012 and September 10, 2011).

When he was in high school, he was the QB of West Lake HS in Austin which has produced the Quarterbacks Drew Brees (New Orleans Saints) and Nick Foles (Philadelphia Eagles). Talented player but also brilliant student, he chose Wake Forest rather than Stanford, Harvard, Rice, Tulsa, Louisiana Tech, Columbia and Dartmouth also offered him a scholarship.

Price wears number 10 and in addition to to leading the offense of the Elite team he will also be responsible for the coordination of the Junior teams Offensive scheme.
