Germany: Major signing – Potsdam Royals sign ex-Boise State QB Jaylon Henderson

By Brad Duff

The 2022 GFL North Champions, the Potsdam Royals, have announced the signing of 25-year-old quarterback Jaylon Henderson.

The Royals are coming off the finest season in their history which saw them reach the 2022 German Bowl without a loss while scoring a franchise record 50 total touchdowns.

Henderson played two seasons with the Boise State Broncos, including a 2019 campaign in which the 6’1”, 210 pound dual threat quarterback led the Broncos to a Mountain West Championship with a win over Hawaii. Henderson was awarded Offensive MVP in the game, recording three total touchdowns and over 260 yards from scrimmage.

In 2022, Jaylon Henderson made a quick stop at the Vegas Knight Hawks of the Indoor Football League, playing only four games in the teams’ first ever season.

Henderson then made the decision to travel to Osaka, Japan to play for the Panasonic Impulse in the X-League Super. He led the side to an undefeated regular season, only losing to the Fujitsu Frontiers in the Rice Bowl Championship game. Henderson went on to secure X1 Super Rookie of the Year.

The Royals hope for a repeat of last season’s success, finishing the regular season with an undefeated 20-0 record and making their way to the German Bowl.
