Germany’s Hamburg Huskies sign UW-La Crosse LB Zachary Zillmer
The Hamburg Huskies who play in Germany’s GFL2, have added linebacker Zachary Zillmer from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (NCAA Div. III).
The 23 year old, 6’2″, 245 pound native of Black River Falls, Wisconsin had originally signed to play for the Alberhausen Crusaders (German 3rd Division) but the pandemic cut the season short before Zillmer could see game action.
In 33 games (26 as a starter) in his four years with the UW-La Crosse Eagles, Zillmer recorded 76 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and eight sacks. He was Honorable mention All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) in his senior year and All WIAC Second Team in his junior season.
