Hamburg Sea Devils looking for revenge as they host the Paris Musketeers

Sunday’s European League of Football action will feature the Paris Musketeers (3-6) as they travel to face the Hamburg Sea Devils (4-5) in week 12.

The two teams last faced off in week five, seeing the Musketeers come away with a 27-23 win over the German side.

ELF: Paris Musketeers earn first home win in team history in thriller over Hamburg Sea Devils

Most recently, the Musketeers took to Spain in week nine, beating the Barcelona Dragons 37-6.  The game saw a positive performance from Zach Edwards, who completed 13 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns against his former team and rushed for 38 yards and a score. The Paris offensive unit seems to have hit a nice stride towards the end of the season, consistently putting up points against good competition, even putting 25 points on the Rhein Fire and 21 on the Frankfurt Galaxy. Despite this progress, it’s far too little too late for the new franchise, as they are officially eliminated from playoff contention as of week 11.

Contrary to the Musketeers’ performance trend, the Sea Devils have seemingly regressed since the loss of quarterback Preston Haire. Haire’s last appearance saw Hamburg fall just short of a very strong Frankfurt Galaxy side, and since then they have been dominated by Rhein Fire, and barely scraped a win against a struggling Cologne Centurions team.

In his two appearances for the Sea Devils, Isaiah Green has completed four of nine passing attempts for 46 yards and two interceptions, while rushing for a net total of 13 yards. German QB Moritz Maack has actually taken the vast majority of reps over the past two games.

Hamburg will be hoping to see big improvements going forward, as they need to win out to even be in with a chance of making the playoffs.
