Italy: Game of the Week – Guelfi Firenze vs Ancona Dolphins

The Italian Football League’s Game of the Week will see the Guelfi Firenze facing off against the Ancona Dolphins.

With both teams sitting at 2-1, each has a chance to leapfrog the first place Milano Seamen, who are idle, in the standings with a win.

Another development in the IFL this week was the announcement that each Game of the Week will feature on Ohio-based network BCSN each Monday at 7.00pm EST (BCSN being the cable channel of IFL’s streaming partner Buckeye).

Those state-side tuning in on Monday will undoubtedly be in for a treat as two of the most improved teams from last year battle it out for the top spot.

The Guelfi offense has put on an almost unbelievable performance over the first three games of the season. The squad has put up over 1,400 yards, more than double the next team down. This offensive attack has been spearheaded by quarterback Andrea Fimiani and running backs Ahmad Tanner and Jared Gerbino whose potency rushing the ball has been totally unmatched.

The Ancona Dolphins are a team that has surprised most in the league with their dominant wins early in the season. They have the second highest scoring offense and defense in the league, making them dangerous from anywhere on the field.

One thing is for sure in this matchup, Guelfi will run and score…a lot. The Dolphins will need their defense to continue taking the ball away like they have done all season and quarterback Colin Di Galbo can’t afford to have any scoreless drives if they hope to fend off Guelfi.
