Leipzig Kings release 53 man roster

The European Football League’s Leipzig Kings have released their game roster for the 2021 season.

After holding a tryout camp attended by 110 hopefuls in Leipzig, Germany last week, Leipzig Kings head coach Fred Armstrong has announced a 53 man roster.

The Kings open their 2021 season on June 20 when they travel to Berlin, Germany to face the Berlin Thunder. 

Notable names include former NFL/AFI All-Pandemic Team wide receiver, Alpha Jalloh, former MVP of Japan’s X League, quarterback Michael Birdsong and All American linebacker Kyle Kitchens.

Armstrong is pleased:

“ I am happy with our 53 man roster to begin our first season in the ELF.  I will carry a practice squad of 10 players that will be finalized this Sunday which I am so excited about for the Kings”

Quarterbacks: Michael Birdsong, Jaleel Awini, Tom Van Dujin

Running backs: Jason Aguemon, Raymond Sobowale, Mortitz Herzel, Tony Kulok, Luc Schneider

About the ELF

The European League of Football, ELF, kicks off  June 19, and will wind up with the championship game in September. Eight teams will vie for the title: the Hamburg Sea Devils, Berlin Thunder, Frankfurt Galaxy, Cologne Centurions, Stuttgart Scorpions, Leipzig Kings, Wroclaw Panthers (Poland) and the Barcelona Dragons (Spain).
