TORONTO — The Toronto Argonauts welcome the Calgary Stampeders to BMO Field in Toronto Thursday night in a  battle of the CFL’s top two offences.

Quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell and the Calgary Stampeders head to Toronto to face Ricky Ray and the Argonauts in the first meeting between the two this season.

Ray sits atop of the league in passing yards with 2,282 and has tossed nine touchdowns while completing 69.2 per cent of his passes. Mitchell sits third in passing yards, collecting 1,832 while completing 63.9 per cent of his passes and throwing 10 major scores.

Toronto looks to stay on top of the East Division. Calgary looks to take over in the West.

S.J. Green and Armanti Edwards have been Ray’s favorite targets on the season, collecting 586 and 428 yards respectively. But another threat, Anthony Coombs, has emerged over the past few weeks and Ray has been looking to the slotback more often than not. Calgary’s defense will have their hands full when they hit the gridiron at BMO Field.

Calgary RB Jerome Messam has been battering opposition defenses in 2017

Calgary, on the other hand, has an arsenal of receivers themselves. Kamar Jorden has been Mitchell’s favorite target so far this season, but after an injury last week, he is questionable to start on Thursday. Marquay McDaniel, Lemar Durant, DaVaris Daniels and most recently Marken Michel, will all be more than happy to catch more passes in Jorden’s absence.
