In the final regular season weekend of play in Gridiron Queensland’s 2021 season, the second place Brisban Rhinos (5-2-1) will travel crosstown to take on the league-leading Bayside Ravens (7-0-1), Saturday, November 27.
This will be the second meeting of the year between the two teams. The Ravens took the first game in mid-October, fairly comfortable, 51-20.
With quarterback Jared Stegman behind center, the Ravens have steamrollered through the league this season racking up an amazing 352 points on offense in the eight games played while allowing just 26, 20 of those to the Rhinos. Stegman, who just signed to play in the European League of Football with the Istanbul Rams, has had another stellar year and will be aiming to lead Bayside to their third straight title.
The Rhinos, while not as spectacular, have scored 196 points while giving up 102. Unfortunately for this game, head coach Samuel Harkness will not have the services of either of his two quarterbacks, starter Mitchell Bradford, or backup Riley Dix, so he will be turning to one of his receivers to run his Run and Shoot offense.
The game will be a prelude to next week’s Sunbowl when the same two teams will meet to decide the Gridiron Queensland title.
