The unbeaten Cuiabá Arsenal (5-0) will head into their quarterfinal matchup in the Brazilian Football League against the Brasilia Tubaroes Saturday at Pantanal Arena in Cuiabá .

In the only meeting between the two this season, the Arsenal prevailed, beating Brasilia 29-22. The Tubaroes had taken a 22-0 lead in that game before Cuiabá kicked into gear to score 29 unanswered points and win the game.

The Arsenal averaged 36.25 points a game during the regular season, third best in Brazil, while the Tubaroes had a slightly better defensive record giving up 10 points a game.

Brasilia does not intend to make the same mistake again.  Team president Victor Fialho:

  “What went wrong the first time is we made mistakes at key times. If we reduce our errors we will have a chance to beat Arsenal. It’s our chance to achieve a dream to reach the national semifinal.”
