STREAMING CFL Preseason: Winnipeg Blue Bombers @ Saskatchewan Roughriders, 02:30 CET, June 1 (8:30 pm ET, May 31)

The Grey Cup champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers head to Regina, Saskatchewan to face the Saskatchewan Roughriders in their last preseason game of the 2022 Canadian Football League season. This is the first preseason game for the Roughriders.

This game was originally scheduled for May 23 but was moved due to the labor dispute between the CFL and CFLPA.

The Bombers opened their preseason this past Saturday at IG Field in Winnipeg against the Edmonton Elks who downed them 30-20.

In that game, Winnipeg went with two quarterbacks, Dru Brown and Dakota Prukop, keeping starter Zach Collaros out of the lineup. Collaros will not play in tonight’s game in Regina either. Both Brown and Prukop will alternate again but how much is head coach Mike O’Shea’s call. In the Edmonton game, Brown took snaps in the first and third quarters where he completed 10 of 13 passing attempts for a total of 108 passing yards and one touchdown. Prukop lined up behind the center in the second and fourth quarters where he completed five of 14 passes for a total of 81 passing yards. He also rushed for 18 yards which included an eight-yard rushing touchdown.

At running back, Johnny Augustine and Brady Oliveira had stints with Augustine getting six carries for 54 yards and Oliveira three for 19. Neither will play in tonight’s game against the Roughriders. Other non-dressers for the Bombers include receivers Nic Demski, Drew Wolitarsky and Greg Ellingson; offensive linemen Stanley Bryant, Geoff Gray, Michael Couture, Pat Neufeld, Jermarcus Hardrick, fullback Mike Miller, defensive linemen Willie Jefferson, Jake Thomas, Cam Lawson, Casey Sayles and Jackson Jeffcoat; linebackers Adam Bighill, Shayne Gauthier, Kyrie Wilson and Les Maruo, and defensive backs Winston Rose, Nick Taylor and Deatrick Nichols.

For the Roughriders, who are playing their first preseason contest, there will be more players to keep an eye on. At the running back position, Jamal Morrow, Shaq Cooper, Frankie Hickson, Troymaine Pope and Kienan LaFrance will all get a chance. Meanwhile, at quarterback Catch Mason Fine, Jake Dolegala and Troy Williams will be battling for the spot behind starting quarterback Cody Fajardo.

On the defensive side of the ball, fans will see plenty of Canadians with the Roughriders second overall pick in the 2021 CFL Draft, Nelson Lokombo starting at cornerback, Charbel Dabire at defensive tackle and Justin Herdman-Reed at middle linebacker.

The Riders wind up their preseason schedule on Saturday, June 4 when they travel to Vancouver to take on the BC Lions.
