MONTREAL — The Saskatchewan Roughriders visit the Montreal Alouettes at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium for a rematch of the 112th Grey Cup to close out Mobil Thanksgiving Weekend.

SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS
1. RED ZONE DEFENCE
The Alouettes led the league in red zone touchdowns coming into the week with 43. The Riders, meanwhile, have held their opponents to the third-fewest red zone plays with 98. The return of defensive back Tevaughn Campbell, who’s been out since Week 9 with an injury, should help as they try to stall the Als’ talented offence when they are backed up in their own territory.
2. CONFIDENCE IN THE KICKING GAME
Kicker Brett Lauther returns to the Riders, providing much-needed stability in the kicking game. In 12 games with Ottawa before being traded, he made 94.1 per cent of his field goals. When the games are tight and the pressure is on, head coach Corey Mace will have no hesitation in sending the veteran onto the field.
3. LEANING ON THE VETERANS
Quarterback Trevor Harris was impressive last week, throwing for 453 yards and four touchdowns, as was receiver Kian Schaffer-Baker, with nine receptions for 120 yards. If running back AJ Ouellette can reignite his play, it will give Saskatchewan a threat in each phase of the offence.
MONTREAL ALOUETTES
1. QUEST FOR 5,000
The Alouettes are going to see a hungry Riders team, so quarterback Davis Alexander has to set the tone like he has all season. On a personal note, he’s 146 yards shy of 5,000. Against a Saskatchewan defence allowing 309.5 passing yards per game, it shouldn’t take long for Alexander to hit that mark.
2. WHO’S THE NEW GUY?
The division title may be wrapped up, but there’s still plenty of work to do before the playoffs begin. One order of business is helping newly acquired defensive lineman Julian Howsare settle in. Howsare will look to add to his four sacks against a Riders offensive line that’s allowed 19 so far this season, the second-fewest of any team through 18 weeks.
3. RIGHT AT HOME
Montreal has been one of the toughest places in the league for visiting teams this season. Can the home crowd make its presence felt once again and help the Alouettes complete a perfect 9-0 regular season record at home? Alexander and receiver Tyson Philpot will try to give them one more reason to get excited before the playoffs.
NEED TO KNOW:
- The teams have split their previous six games in Montreal.
- Saskatchewan hasn’t lost four consecutive games since a 0-5-1 stretch in 2024.
- Harris is 9-6 against Montreal. He’s one passing touchdown shy of 30 this season, a mark he’s reached twice in his career (30 in 2017 and 33 in 2015).
- Alexander is 1-0 against Saskatchewan.
