The Copenhagen Towers (0-0) are set to open their 2026 Danish National League season against the Triangle Razorbacks (0-0) at Gentofte Sportspark. Both teams are looking to start fresh after disappointing seasons last year.

Towers aiming for redemption
Copenhagen finished fourth in the league with a 3-3 record and faced a tough semifinal exit against the Aalborg 89ers. This season, they’re bolstered by the addition of German quarterback Ian Gehrke, who played for the Salzburg Ducks in the Austrian Football League in 2025 where he threw for 1,745 yards and 18 touchdowns. Gehrke also led the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns to the German Bowl in 2023, throwing for 1,978 yards and 21 touchdowns during the regular season. Along with new wide receiver Christian Honig, a former member of the junior German national team, the Towers are looking to elevate their offense.

Razorbacks looking to improve
Meanwhile, the Triangle Razorbacks struggled last season, finishing last with a 1-7 record. Veteran quarterback Reed Gottula returns, hoping to lead the team to a better performance this year. In their last meeting in 2025, the Towers dominated the Razorbacks with a 51-0 victory, but both teams are eager to prove they’ve improved.
