LIVESTREAM EFA: Nordic Storm @ Frankfurt Galaxy, Aug. 2, 13:00 CET (1 pm, 7 am ET)
The Frankfurt Galaxy (3-5) host the Nordic Storm (7-1) on Sunday in one of the marquee matchups of Week 12 in the European Football Alliance. The Galaxy are fighting to solidify their place in the playoff race with only two regular-season games remaining, while the Storm are chasing the top seed and looking to keep pace with the unbeaten Munich Ravens before next week’s highly anticipated showdown.
Galaxy begin a new chapter
The Galaxy head into the final stretch of the season with a new quarterback after signing Zach Calzada to replace Ethan Garbers.
Calzada arrives with an impressive college résumé that includes leading Texas A&M to a memorable upset of then-No. 1 Alabama in 2021. He later enjoyed the finest season of his career at Incarnate Word, throwing for 3,791 yards and 35 touchdowns in 2024 while earning Southland Conference Player of the Year honors. Most recently, he spent time with the Ottawa Redblacks of the CFL.
Frankfurt also strengthened its defense with the addition of linebacker Fabian Weitz. After playing at Buffalo, Weitz was selected eighth overall in the CFL Draft and spent two seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, bringing valuable experience to a defense looking to rebound after allowing 61 points to the Raiders Tirol before the bye week.
How quickly Calzada and Weitz adjust could play a major role in Sunday’s outcome.

Storm keep eye on first place
The Storm have already secured a place in the EFA BIG4 Playoff Weekend, but their work is far from finished.
Before the bye week, the Storm rolled to a 41-3 road victory over the Paris Musketeers, once again showing why they have been one of the league’s most complete teams.
Quarterback Jadrian Clark threw for 384 yards and five touchdowns, while Brendan Beaulieu continued his spectacular season with 13 catches for 231 yards and three touchdowns. Beaulieu remains the EFA’s leading receiver, and the Storm continue to pair an explosive offense with one of the league’s stingiest defenses.
Playoff stakes remain high
The Galaxy currently occupy third place but remain under pressure from the Paris Musketeers and the Prague Lions, making every remaining game critical.
Meanwhile, the Storm know a victory is essential if they hope to keep pressure on the Munich Ravens heading into next week’s battle that could determine the EFA’s No. 1 seed.
Everything still to play for
The Galaxy are trying to protect their playoff position. The Storm are trying to improve theirs.
With Frankfurt debuting a new quarterback and the Storm looking to extend their impressive run, Sunday’s meeting has all the ingredients of one of the defining games of the EFA regular season.
