The Raiders Tirol (2-7) host the Paris Musketeers (3-6) Sunday at Tivoli Stadium in Innsbruck with both teams still chasing a place in the European Football Alliance BIG4 Playoff Weekend.

The Raiders arrive with something they did not have for most of the season — momentum. After opening 0-7, Tirol has won two straight, beating the Frankfurt Galaxy 61-41 before taking down the Prague Lions 41-29 last week.

Paris, meanwhile, heads to Austria looking to stop a five-game losing streak after beginning the season 3-1.

Raiders offense has come alive

The arrival of Kenyatte Allen has dramatically changed the Raiders offense. In his first two EFA starts, Allen has thrown for 754 yards and five touchdowns while completing nearly 85 percent of his passes.

Last week against Prague, he completed 15 of 22 passes for 346 yards and two touchdowns as Tirol piled up 521 yards of offense. Lukas Haslwanter scored four touchdowns, while Aaron Jackson had three catches for 105 yards and a score.

The improvement up front has been just as important. The Raiders have allowed only one sack over the past two games, giving Allen the time to attack downfield.

Paris looking to stop the slide

The Musketeers have gone in the opposite direction after their 3-1 start, but last week’s 45-22 loss to the Munich Ravens offered some encouragement offensively.

Zach Edwards completed 18 of 26 passes for 214 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. Torin Justice caught seven passes for 130 yards and two scores as the Paris passing game produced several big plays against the unbeaten Ravens.

The bigger issue has been stopping opponents. The Musketeers have allowed more than 40 points in each of their past two games, something they cannot afford against a Raiders offense playing its best football of the season.

Tirol gets another shot at Paris

The first meeting between the teams ended painfully for the Raiders. Tirol led for much of the game before the Musketeers rallied for a 24-17 victory in Paris.

Sunday gives the Raiders a chance to reverse that result at home and continue a turnaround that looked highly unlikely only a few weeks ago.

For the Musketeers, it is an opportunity to halt their slide when it matters most. With the BIG4 approaching, neither team has room for another loss.
