The Marseilles Blue Stars (2-0) go into this week’s matchup in the French D1 Elite league against the visiting Nice Dauphins (1-2) as the favorites as they are currently undefeated but with the Dauphins coming off their first win of the season are they able to capitalize on their momentum?

Nice started the season off in a manner in which they would like to forget, as their first two match up were against the two squads in group B who are eyeing a first round seed. The Dauphins took on Iron Mask Cannes in their first game of the season and suffered a 19-6 defeat against the team currently in second place in Group B. Their season did not get any easier as their next match up saw Nice face off with the Grizzlys Catalans and even after an impressive showing the Dauphins lost 21-19 to the team leading Group B.

Though in their last matchup the Dauphins came away the victor as they faced a struggling Toulouse Ours side and with a scoreline of 20-9, Nice were able to gain some critical momentum in their first win of the 2024 campaign.

The Blue Stars have only played two games this season and both of them have resulted in wins for the Marseille side Although impressive, it has to be mentioned that both of the teams the Blue Stars have played reside at the bottom of the Group B standings, as Marseille beat the Aix Argonauts 34-6 and Toulouse 22-7.

This matchup is as close as it gets and the historical fixtures tell us that these two teams are evenly matched as the series is tied at 1-1 with Nice taking the latest game in 2023 12-10 but Marseille taking the first fixture in 2023 24-14.
