In the year’s first rematch in the German Football League, the #17 Potsdam Royals (1-1) head to Heinz Steyer Stadium in Dresden (1-0) seeking revenge for last week’s 45-34 loss at the hands of the #7 Dresden Monarchs.

Potsdam had opened the season by unleashing its entire offensive power whipping the Hildesheim Invaders 56-0 two weeks ago but were brought down to earth by the Monarchs in front of Potsdam crowd.

The Royals feel behind 17-0 early in the game last week only to take a 28-24 lead in the third quarter. However, Dresden worked their way back scoring three more times in the second half, with quarterback Trenton Norvell (Western Illinois University) and wide receiver Mitchell Paige leading the way. Norvell threw for 410 yards and four touchdowns with Paige catching eight passes for 138 yards and two of those touchdowns. Brice Coquin was also a key catching five passes for 115 yards and a touchdown.

For Potsdam, David Austin Gahafer had a good day throwing the ball as well completing 22 of 42 passes for 302 yards and three touchdowns, but he was picked off twice. the second time late in the game which sealed the win for Dresden. Danish receiver Frederik Myrup Nielsen made life difficult for the Monarchs secondary though with nine receptions for 154 yards and a touchdown.
