Week 15 of the German Football League will see one of the most crucial, most highly anticipated games of the season as the Potsdam Royals will head to Dresden for a chance to dethrone the Monarchs and reclaim the crown of the GFL North.
Both teams sit at 8-1, ripping through the rest of the GFL with relative ease. The advantage currently lies with the Monarchs, however, with the Royals having tasted their lone defeat at the hands of Dresden earlier this season. The Royals also barely scraped a win against the New Yorker Lions, while the Monarchs dominated them 24-7. Dresden’s sole loss came early in the season against the Berlin Rebels, who they claimed revenge on this past weekend.

When it comes down to recent form however, Potsdam has the edge. Where Dresden put up impressive score lines of 43-19 and 28-16 against the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes and Berlin Rebels respectively, the Royals have obliterated their last two opponents. After a huge 67-6 win over the Paderborn Dolphins, Potsdam managed to level up further with a 72-6 victory against the Munich Cowboys. Across the two games, QB Jaylon Hederson amassed 535 total yards and 10 touchdowns on 72% completions.

The last matchup between the two teams saw Dresden come out with a 59-45 win over Potsdam, with QB Steven Duncan putting up a dominant 500 yard, six touchdown performance through the air.
This game is as crucial as they come, with the result possibly being decisive of who ends up with the top seed at the end of the season.
