The Dresden Monarchs (1-0) will play host to the surprisingly winless Braunschweig New Yorker Lions (0-2) Sunday, May 26 as the German Football League wraps up its third round of play.

The Monarchs opened the season by trouncing the Paderborn Dolphins 38-7 while Braunschweig lost to Paderborn 10-7 and to the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes 28-14.

Dresden quarterback Brock Domann threw for 386 yards and five touchdowns in the opening day win and he spread the ball around in doing so completing passes for seven different receivers. Expect another aerial bonanza today unless the Lions defense step up.

For Braunschweig, quarterback Lamar Jordan started the first game against Kiel throwing for only 131 yards. He was replaced in the matchup with Paderborn by wide receiver Leon Dirmeier. Hopefully the Lions will have their quarterback situation resolved come game time today.

These two teams are normally evenly matched but so far it would seem that the Monarchs would have the edge today.
