LIVESTREAM Germany PPV: Kiel Baltic Hurricanes @ Potsdam Royals, Aug. 22, 16:00 CET (4 pm, 10 am ET)
The Potsdam Royals (9-1) will try to keep their remarkable defensive run rolling Saturday when they welcome the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes (3-7) to Luftschiffhafen Stadium for a late-season German Football League matchup.
The defending champions have already secured a home game in the quarterfinals, but there has been no sign of Potsdam easing toward the postseason. The Royals have won three straight games without allowing a single point, including last week’s 61-0 road win over the Braunschweig Lions.
Kiel, meanwhile, arrives with considerably more at stake. The Hurricanes climbed into fifth place in the GFL North after knocking off the Pforzheim Wilddogs 26-22 and another win would strengthen their position with the regular season running out.

Royals defense slamming the door
Getting points against Potsdam has become a major problem.
The Royals have allowed just 79 points through 10 games and have shut out Berlin, Düsseldorf and Braunschweig in succession. That defense has helped Potsdam build a 9-1 record while the offense has piled up 464 points.
The first meeting with Kiel followed the same pattern. Potsdam rolled to a 48-3 victory in May, continuing a series in which the Hurricanes have gone winless in 12 meetings since 2018, with 11 losses and a tie.
Potsdam pounds away on the ground
The Royals didn’t need much from the passing game last week.
Instead, they kept hammering Braunschweig on the ground and scored all nine touchdowns by rushing. Chrisman Kyei crossed the goal line four times, Heiko Bals added two scores and Jost Bohnhorst, Elias Güther and Peter Martin each found the end zone.
Potsdam also has options at quarterback. Moritz Richter guided the offense against the Lions, while Bay Harvey has already seen action and Tyrrell Pigrome has returned to the Royals after an injury cut short his 2025 season.
Kiel arrives with momentum
The Hurricanes have reason to believe they can make this meeting tougher.
Last week’s win over Pforzheim required Kiel to battle back after falling behind 13-0. PJ Settles threw the decisive 35-yard touchdown pass to Jarvis McClam with 7:38 remaining before the defense shut down the Wilddogs’ final threat.
Now comes a much bigger test.
Potsdam wants to carry its defensive dominance into the playoffs. Kiel needs every win it can get in the fight for position in the GFL North.
