The Braunschweig New Yorker Lions (0-1) will try to right the ship after suffering an opening day loss when they host the Paderborn Dolphins (0-1) in the second weekend of play in the German Football League.

The Lions were beaten 28-14 by the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes a week ago in Kiel. That was their first loss to the Hurricanes in three years. Meanwhile, Paderborn were pummeled 38-7 by the Dresden Monarchs.

In the only meeting between these two teams in 2023, Braunschweig came away with a 42-14 victory.

Lions quarterback Lamar Jordan threw for only 131 yards and a touchdown in last week’s loss while tossing two interceptions. However, he was the leading rusher for Braunschweig picking up 109 yards on 20 carries while scoring the other touchdown. Luc Meacham had four catches for 106 yards and a touchdown. Expect to see much more of these two in action today.

For Paderborn, Zachary Whitehead completed 19 of 32 passes for 166 yards and his main targets were Clemens Schuldt and Louis Waldmann who had 54 and50 yards receiving respectively. Joshua Breece rushed for 85 yards on 14 carries and scored the Dolphins only touchdown.
