Spain (1–0) welcomes Georgia (0–1) to Campo Oroel in Jaca on Saturday, Oct. 24, looking to tighten its grip on the 2026–27 IFAF Men’s European Championship Level 2 standings and move closer to promotion to Europe’s top division.

Spain riding high after dominant opener

The Spanish national team opened its campaign with a commanding 59–0 road victory over the Great Britain Development Squad in Coventry, demonstrating its offensive firepower and defensive strength.

Head coach Jesús Fernández Pino believes his squad has the talent to compete at a higher level.

“The goal is for Spain to earn the place I believe it deserves based on the talent we have and the level of American football in our country,” he said.

With a mixture of experienced veterans and promising newcomers, Spain will look to build on that impressive opening performance.

Georgia seeking progress in historic road debut

Georgia faces another daunting challenge in its first-ever away game in IFAF competition.

The Georgians made their international debut two weeks ago in Tbilisi, suffering a 61–0 defeat against the Great Britain Development Squad.

Still developing its national program, Georgia will be looking for improvement against a Spanish team that has already established itself as the group favorite.

A second convincing victory would put Spain firmly in control of its promotion campaign.
