The undefeated Milano Seamen (2-0) travel to Ancona to face the 2-1 Ancona Dolphins in Italy’s Division I, Sunday April 8.

The Seamen have looked solid in their bid to defend their Italian crown with a convincing winsover the Bolzano Giants (21-0) but a struggle in a victory over the Milano Rhinos.

Ancona has opened the season with a pair of wins following an opening round loss to Torino. The Dolphins beat the Milano Rhinos 28-7 and then UTA Pesaro 42-0.

The Dolphins offense is averaging 24.3 points a game but the defense is ranked third in Italy giving up a mere seven points a game. Milano’s offense is averaging 311.5 yards a game while allowing 202, good for second.

Milano quarterback Luke Zahradka is the second leading passer in the Italian league so far averaging 214.5 yards a game with the Dolphins Josh Dean fourth at 170 yards a contest. The Seamen have two of the five leading receivers in the league so far in Stefano Di Tunisi and Xavier Mitchell. Di Tunisi has 11 catches for 215 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Mitchell has hauled in eight passes for 108 yards and four touchdowns.

The Dolphins are looking to rebound after a disappointing 2017 season which saw them finish with a 4-6 record and out of the playoffs for the first time in three years.
